Trans Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Canon

I heard this alot over the Christmas holiday. I'm not sure that it counts though since they have "Canon" in the title and it's very obvious where they got their inspiration.

Norwegian Recycling - How Six Songs Collide

Nice mix of songs that all sound like Canon in D. My previous several posts were pulled from this video.

Three Doors Down - Here Without You

Boyzone - All That I Need

Angela Ammons - Always Getting Over You

Five for Fighting - Superman

The only embeddable content I could find was karaoke lyrics.

Jason Mraz - I'm Yours

Fallout Boy - Grenade Jumper

This one may be pushing it, but I hear Canon in D really fast.

Daivd Poe - Moon

I couldn't find any embeddable media, but I found a link to this one. Check out track 6 entitled Moon. This is only a preview, but this song has a few elements of Canon in D in it. The bass line is pretty close and the guitars in the melody are also really close.

Canon in D is everywhere

If you haven't seen it yet, here is an old Youtube video of comedian Rob Paravonian singing about how Pachelbel's Canon in D seems to be everywhere and that it is following him around all the time. I got to thinking about the video and I decided to start a blog here about where we can find this wonderful piece of Baroque music in modern music. Contemporary, country, R&B? You name the musical genre, Canon in D seems to be in there somewhere. So, today begins my blogging.
